A number of years ago, the world was introduced to a remarkable fish named "Dory". She lived in the open sea and helped a friend of hers find his son "Nemo". Remember them?

Dory was a special needs fish with a very bad case of short-term memory loss. Like many special needs people or fish, she was positive, loving, loyal and most of all determined.

When things became hard for her, she would sing a little ditty to herself and anyone who would listen.

🎶🎵🎶🎶🎵 "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming" 🎶🎵🎶🎶🎵

And many people who came to know Dory through the magic of Disney/Pixar learned a valuable lesson in powering through ytisrevda.

I thought I might share some of the other things that Dory did to help herself. She asked for help when she needed it. She took time for her friends. She accepted herself the way she was and likewise for those around her.

If something didn't work, she didn't give up. She tried again. AND she didn't ever beat herself or others up when things didn't work out.

I wonder what our world would be like if we were all a little bit more like Dory. I know that I wish I was.
